How to disable the metro interface in windows 8.1

This times a million. Any time i see someone with Windows 8, i ask if they want their start menu back. I don't know where all these people who can't stand Windows 8 are, luckily for me, none of them work here. Personally I think Classic shell is a crutch for those who don't want to try to learn something new.

For 8 I found Classic Shell a must-have, for 8. I get mad in Windows 7 now when I can't just start typing and get what I want Even in Windows 10 i find myself right clicking on the start button and using the start menu from 8 or just simply using the search bar. One of my favorite features about Windows 8. I hate classic shell buggy POS more than y'all hate win8. I was glad he got canned and I could wipe that box clean. Classic Shell for sure. I love learning new things, and trust me, I gave the Start Screen a fair shake!

At the end of the day, it was just unnecessarily cumbersome. Start Screen does has its place and I do use it at home occasionally. However, for me, that place is not the workplace.

This is not unwillingness to learn something new; it is unwillingness to use something that disrupts workflow and is counter-intuitive. It is interesting to me that the general consensus is that IT staff should keep up with new technologies and software as they come out so that they can support them and yet, if you opt for Classic Shell, how can you support Users who do not use Classic Shell in your environment?

I've heard whining and moaning about UI changes since Windows 3. NT4 was awful because it had the stupid Win95 GUI and put the graphics driver hooks back into the kernel.

Windows was awful because it did away with Server Manager blah blah blah. XP was a stupid Play Skool desktop, Vista was awful, yaddah yaddah.

If you aren't comfortable with change and adapting to same, maybe technology is the wrong profession! To continue this discussion, please ask a new question.
