How do I find out? Does the C01u work with Unbutu? We don't know yet. Why can't I find the SoftPre download? The SoftPre Applet is no longer available, as it is not necessary. The applet featured three options which can be found both in your Operating System's settings as well as in your recording software. If you are still using SofrPre, we recommend you uninstall to prevent any interference with your System or Audio Recording software. Why is there a delay when I listen to myself as I record?

The delay you hear is called "Latency". This occurs due to the time it takes for your computer to process the audio in the digital domain, then change it back to analog so your speakers can play it.

Is it possible to hear what I record in real time? Yes, but not with this mic. You would need to use an Audio Interface, which replays that audio back to you before the analog to digital conversion. The Samson G-Track is a great example of that. I can't get my C01u to attach to my mic stand. It seems that the thread in the clip is too small for the mic stand.

What gives? All of our microphones come with a Euro Adapter. Some mics have them pre-installed in the mic clip. This adapter is for European standard mic stands, which are smaller than US standard mic stands. You can use a large flat-head screwdriver or even a coin to simply unscrew that adapter from the clip!

When set to cardioid, the microphone captures sound in front of the microphone and rejects sound from the sides and back. This picks up more of the performer sound in relation to the sound of the room and is great for single person podcasts or streaming. This can also be used to capture a group of people around a table for a multi-subject interview.

A dB pad provides additional headroom for performers who tend to project a little more and protects the audio from overloading. Simply connect the included USB cable and start creating. Quick links. I've now done several recordings with it, and it seemed to be working fine. There was one slight glitch, where several minutes of recording were compressed into an instant, but that seems to have straightened itself out, and I've managed to do some recordings that were fine since then, so I don't think that's related.

However, I tried to do some recording today, and now the mic just won't appear on my system. The power LED won't even light up. It's plugged in, but the computer won't recognise it. OS: Ubuntu Any ideas what I can do? I've posted on the Ubuntu help forums to see if anyone there can point me in the right direction, but I just wondered since everyone here uses microphones a lot of the time, if it might not be the better place to see if anyone could help The one is Rude, the other Scornful, and both Evil.

Post by tovarisch » Mon May 06, pm It sounds like it went bad on you. Hopefully I'm wrong, but if Win7 can't see it and install the drivers automagically, the device is probably busted. I have a Go mic, and it works fine with Win7 64 - totally plug-n-play, as I recall. If so click on it and there will be a green tick. Just to say the mic needs to be plugged in before you open Audacity, otherwise it won't be recognized.

Hope this helps. My Librivox Recordings. I've been doing some more digging, and I think it might be that the mic is busted. And I only got it in March! I've emailed both Amazon and Samson to see if I can get a refund from them, but, as ever with these things, I'm not hopeful. Still, I was really pleased with its performance, so if they won't refund me, I'll just have to get another one.
