You should not have problems if your vista OS is a clean install, if you are having problems and have upgraded to Vista or even if you have done a clean install. Though I won't even pretend to be knowledgeable enough to get Alcohol working, I was able to get Vista back up with everything intact.
Hit F8 during boot up to get to some advanced settings screen, choose Repair Windows, and then system restore to the point just before installing Alcohol or perhaps even earlier, if you want. This worked perfectly for me, though I'm not sure it will for everyone.
